What this tool does
CSV stores tabular data as rows and delimited fields; JSON represents structured values that are convenient for APIs, scripts and application data. This converter uses the first CSV row as property names. It preserves cell values as strings, so identifiers such as 00123 and phone numbers are not silently changed into numbers.

- Every row needs the same number of fields as the header. A stray comma can add an unintended column.
- Wrap fields containing commas or line breaks in double quotes. Inside a quoted field, write a quote twice: "".
- Blank headers become column_1, column_2 and so on. Repeated header names get numeric suffixes to keep values from being overwritten.
Frequently asked questions
Does this CSV to JSON converter support TSV?
Yes. If the input contains tab-separated fields, this conversion uses tabs as the delimiter. For comma-separated data containing tab characters inside cells, remove those tabs or use the main workspace's explicit CSV mode.
Are numbers and dates automatically converted?
No. All CSV cell values stay strings. This preserves leading zeros and avoids guessing whether a value is a date, an identifier, or a number.
Can I convert CSV without headers?
This page treats the first row as headers. Add a header row before converting so the first data row is not used as property names.
Is my input uploaded?
